Bea is for Blended

ON SHELVES: MAY 4, 2021!

ABOUT BEA IS FOR BLENDED:

It’s always been just Bea and her mom. But now, right before she begins middle school, her mom is marrying Wendell. And what’s worse, Wendell has three sons, two dogs, and a cat. And what’s even worse, one of those sons is Bryce Valentine, a bully-follower-gets-away-with-everything-er from Bea’s grade in school.

As Bea must learn to adapt to life in a new, busy house, with a new, bigger family, she also runs into new obstacles at the beginning of middle school. First, Aileyanna-people-call-me-A moves in right across the street and has a fancy bounce-back practice soccer net in the front yard, and a killer left foot. Bea’s always been the town’s Most Valuable Girl, and there isn’t room for another left-footed midfielder. But when they arrive on the first day of sixth grade to learn that they are just one girl short of fielding the school’s first ever girls’ soccer team, A and Bea must learn to drop the competition and fight together for what they deserve: a team, with a coach who takes them seriously, and a town behind them.

Bea is for Blended is a story about coming together, lifting each other up, and fighting against the systems determined to hold us in place.
